Meet Tyro
The brave field mouse at the heart of our story

Basic Information
Appearance & Gear
White fur, making him stand out in both light and dark environments.
Wears an oversized brown coat, handmade by his mother, with two large buttons (which were sewn by her, not from his collection).
His dark purple scarf once belonged to Sylvie, and he wears it as a reminder of her. It's frayed but well-kept.
A brown cap, also crafted by his mother, offering protection from the elements.
Wields a bone-handled sword, which was gifted to him in the Umber—its significance is still unknown, but he cherishes it.
Personality
Tyro is young but has already endured more hardship than most. He's resilient and resourceful, but the trauma of losing Sylvie weighs heavily on him. He carries a sense of guilt, believing he should have done more to save her, and though he outwardly focuses on survival and finding a cure for the Gladeblight, deep down, he harbors resentment toward the fox that killed her.
He doesn't know what revenge would look like, or even if it's possible, but the thought lingers. This internal conflict—the struggle between moving forward and the pull of vengeance—is something he wrestles with throughout his journey.
Despite his pain, he remains kind-hearted. He won't abandon someone in need, and he values connection, even if his trust is harder to earn now.
Strengths
Quick and nimble – Perfect for dodging attacks and navigating tight spaces.
Strong sense of smell – Can detect hidden paths, enemies, or food sources.
Survivalist mentality – He knows how to repurpose objects and make do with limited resources.
Determined – He doesn't give up, no matter how hard things get.
Weaknesses
His small size makes him vulnerable to larger creatures.
His emotions sometimes cloud his judgment, especially when it comes to thoughts of revenge.
Trust issues – He wants to believe in others, but after losing Sylvie, he second-guesses people's motives.
Visible fur – His white fur makes it harder for him to blend in, especially in darker areas.

Motivations & Goals
Tyro's ultimate goal is to find a cure for the Gladeblight, but beneath that, he's also seeking purpose and redemption. He wants to prove to himself that he isn't just a helpless field mouse.
However, another, deeper conflict brews inside him—his resentment toward the fox. He doesn't know how to deal with it, or if revenge would truly satisfy him, but he can't shake the thought of facing the creature that stole Sylvie from him.
This internal struggle—justice versus revenge—will shape his decisions throughout his journey.
Fun Fact
Tyro's most prized button is a small, worn blue button he found when he was young. He keeps it sewn inside his coat as a hidden memento. Though it holds no special powers, he clutches it in moments of doubt, finding comfort in its familiarity.
