Turtlevania Games LLC ("Turtlevania Games", "we", "us") is an independent game studio. This policy explains what information we collect through this website and our games, and how we use it. We keep data collection to a minimum and we never sell your data.
This website
You do not need an account or to give us any personal details to browse this site. We use a self-hosted, cookieless analytics tool (Umami) to understand how people find and move through the site so we can improve it: page views and the links you click, with no cookies, no cross-site tracking, and no data shared with advertising companies. A few features (the theme, the what's-new dot, dismissing an announcement, and whether you've read the devlog) remember your choice in your browser's local storage; that information stays on your device and is never sent to us. If you sign up for the newsletter, we store the email address you give us (double opt-in) and nothing else; unsubscribe from any issue. We never sell your data.
Some pages embed third-party content (for example, a YouTube trailer); when you play an embedded video, that provider may set its own cookies under its own privacy policy.
When you follow links to our stores and platforms (Steam, itch.io, our Shopify shop, or Ko-fi), those services handle any account, payment, and personal information under their own privacy policies. We never see or store your payment details.
Analytics in our games (Playloop)
We built our own playtesting analytics tool, Playloop (playloop.gg), and we use it inside our games to understand how people play so we can improve them.
Playloop identifies a play session with a unique session ID that Playloop generates. We do not collect personally identifiable information (PII). We do collect approximate location and the gameplay events emitted while you play, and we use that only to improve gameplay and fix problems.
We never sell your data to third parties.
How we use information
- To understand how our games are played and improve them.
- To diagnose bugs, balance difficulty, and guide what we build next.
- To respond to you if you contact us directly.
Data sharing
We do not sell your data. We share information only with the service providers that help us operate (such as the platforms listed above), and only as needed to run our games and store. We may disclose information if required by law.
Children
Our games and this site are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Your choices
Because Playloop does not collect PII and ties data to a generated session ID rather than to your identity, the data is not linked to you personally. If you have questions about your data or this policy, contact us and we will help.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above.
